TAKING ONE STEP AT A TIME...

What have I been so busy doing all this time??? Yep... I'm going to answer that question today... I have been busy in developing Pi... Taking one step at a time and making it more organised and beautifying it I guess would be the right word...
It's simple really.. Pi started off as a hobby for P n me... And now we want to take it a step further.. We want it to be a business... I'm slightly skeptical when it comes to making an investment because I won't be here after a year to help with it... But we are still going to go all out as far as we can without a real big investment...
So we are taking baby steps... We finally have a menu... And fixed prices... Next we have an email address.. pi.cookiesandmore@gmail.com . Then we added a blog... The blog isn't up in full swing yet.. but we have started... Will add a link to the blog soon... Now we are looking to print visiting cards...

CAKES AND SURPRISES... !!!

All my posts usually start with soo much has happened in the past few months.. but thats because i dont update regularly and a lot does happen between each of my updates.. i mean Mother's day was ages ago.. and i cant even remember half the stuff that happened since...

So for this update i decided to go month wise... considering last was May and now we are in the month of Sept.. :P

JUNE....

June was highly eventful...It started with D's birthday.. for which i baked this beauty...

It was a Butterscotch cake with Espresso Buttercream... and N loved it soo much that she has since been ordering only that flavor for all occassions.. :P

Anyway after that i left for Surat on 12th June... My first visit to the IN -LAWS.. :P i was excited.. nervous not soo much.... i was loaded with gifts.. :P the plus of being newly engaged... you get loads of gifts.. and well who doesn't like a few(many) gifts.. :D... i know i do...

From Surat, FIL planned a trip to LAVASA.. A beautiful planned city on the ghats outside Pune city.... 

The weather was beautiful..Saw the rainbow and searched for the pot of gold at the end of the Rainbow tooo.. :P the vacation time ended too soon if u ask me... :P...

I came back to hyd (loaded with gifts) and dragged a fiance back home too.. :P.. 

JULY...

July began with Batman for me... 

Then came Ramazan and fasting and haleem.. :P and lots of Ramazan related goodies...

And ended with Cupcakes by the dozen... :P

AUGUST...

This month was all about the baking.. P and me worked on PI and recreated it menu.. will update that here soon.. and there was the ramazan giveaway orders... :P 

This year Eid was a simple affair.. and no new clothes... :( tho lots of eidi.. :P... 

Mid - Aug, the girls started planning a holiday... i had an anxiety attack for the weekend.. i did something stupid and then confessed it all to D who put my head back into perspective... August i would say was an extra eventful month.. lots of ups and downs and craziness... spur of the moment sleep overs... my parents kicking me out of the house for date night..ahh the craziness just continues... but there was a lot more of those goodies tooo....

This Mad Hater Baby Shower Cake led to P and me having a fight and her taking revenge on me by making me drive for half hr in the rains and come fix the cake... Tho i guess she had the right because i kinda had ditched her that morning... :P

We ended the month with this Beauty.. meet my pride... my imitation of the Glock.. :P We at PI were very proud of the end result.. and i heard that the cake was devoured... :P so my day was made.. 

SEPTEMBER...

Sept began with cakes by the dozen... and big big cakes.... 

     

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY..!!!

Today has been rather tiring for me .. and i learnt a lot of lesson before the day even began..... just so that i could surprise mom i decided to make a Crepe cake with nutella.. its seemed simple and easy.. and since my mother would know if i did anything before i (very smartly) decided to make everything today morning... 

So i woke up at 5:30, after a mere 3 hours of sleep with a headache and eyes that weren't ready to open just yet... i dragged it on till 6 when i finally realized that if i dint wake up then i would have no surprise for mom... so i made the crepes (which was the easiest part of course). i open the new bottle of nutella i both just yesterday to find it half empty...(my mum obviously sneaked into it at some point without my knowledge.. :( ..) and SO the trouble began i was running short of nutella... (that's what happens when you don't make your own ganache and try to take the easy way out)...

And then i saw the chocolate sauce lying on the shelf.. i tried that.... it led to disaster.. :( 

Then another brilliant idea struck me .. i decided to heat the nutella to make it thinner... there i learnt my 1st lesson.. you can not change its consistency by heating it... 

But i wasn't ready to give up just yet... so i went one step further and decided to make a nutella sauce,... but of course it wouldn't have been SO easy ..I am out of cream.. :(

I, however, had to go ahead an use my extra smart brain .... I decide to add milk... there i learnt my second lesson.... never add milk hot or cold to Nutella.. ever...... i lost half of my nutella...  ;(

But i wasn't gonna give up.. i melted chocolate and used that.. :P it turned out pretty good...  he he....

And during this ordeal i learnt my 3rd lesson... Just because it looks easy doesn't mean it f**king is.... i remember reading somewhere that the crepes were sliding off.. and i laughed at that thinking.. how the hell can they slide off.. there is something or the other holding the layers together... well now from experience i can say... yes.. it does slide off.. 

So that's how it finally looked... mum's liked it.. it tasted good.. that means my purpose solved... would i attempt it again.. hmmm.... I'm sure.... maybe if i find someone i love as much as i mom to go through that again.. I'll think about it...

A LOT HAS HAPPEND!!!

its been 2 months now since i strted my business... and its been gud... its actually been better than i would have thought.... but this post isnt about that... its about my life which has simplified and gottten complicated at the same time..

it all started with my sudden visit to Surat... My friend was getting married in Surat on 9th so i thought why not.. i have nothing to do as of now anyway so i might as well go meet Nana and Nani ( maternal grandparents) and attend the wedding...

I left for Surat on 7th Feb.... spend half the day in mumbai because my train from Mumbai to Surat got delayed by 3 hours.. reached at 2 in the night and slept...

I was kinda excited about the trip because i was returning after 6 yrs..and seeing all my cousins after 6 yrs.... and then there is my mum's cuz lets call him A.H... soo many A's in my life... its confusing...

Let me first give a little background on A.H. ... He is my mum's first cousin but as it is in Indian Families he is my age... and we have been friends from childhood... sometimes competitive some times friends and sometimes each others confidant...Then we went through the whole phase of growing up and getting attracted to each other... the one thing that never happened though was being awkward with each other... we just were the kinda friends who wouldn't meet for months but when we did meet we'd spill all the beans... so thats what we are like...

So here's what happened... when i was on my way to the airport.. Dad told me that one side of the family was keen on A.H and me tying the knot... but he wasn't sure about it because of the whole small place that surat was and all.. and i very smartly said of course me and A.H.. its just not happening .. please.. we are friends and nothing more.. thats just twisted... but of course.. things in my life don't stay that simple....

We met like we normally do.. like long lost friends who couldn't wait to spend time together and catch up.. we caught up alright... but that evening people gave us that weird look that old people give when they think something is cooking.. and me being me din't even understand that something like that happened... but A.H noticed... later he mentioned it and we both went like people need to leave us alone...

The next day again we met and then the next.. and somewhere something changed.. i suddenly was looking at him like a girl... ( which was very weird i tell u ... ) yes.. i accept i have a soft corner for him but thats because of the whole friendship we share nothing else.. right??? well.. atleast thats what i thought.. untill suddenly talking  A.H said things that i din't anticipate... now that's when things just messed up u know....

And the icing on the cake.. the weirdness.... more messed up... i returned back home with a little confusion and a little relief... and now i'm kinda waiting to see where it all goes...

And that is the story of my life for now...!!!

ITS TIME FOR SOME BUSINESS..!!!

Yes people.. i decided i'd had enough of being jobless... I decided ( Okay okay.. my friends decided that it was time i put my hobby to some use )...

So thats how it started.. my own business... :P sounds so silly to even say it ... okay i don't have much to say so i'm just gonna put up pics...  you know the whole pictures talk and all that.. :P

Apart from this.. lets see... My life has been a bit of a roller coaster these days..!!!

The first week of this year started with me going for a mani-pedi..  from which i rushed to the train station to go attend my close friends wedding.. not at the station.. :P i was going outta station.. :P

The wedding was fun... Quite a lot of work too.. after all sitting with the bride in the parlour and watching her get ready is a lotta hard work.. and takes loads for patience even for us girls... :P Jokes apart... it was quite tiring...  it started with catching a train at 9 in the night .. spending the next day in the wedding drama.. and being back in the train at 2 am that night...  frankly speaking it felt like i was in a long transit and my journey was from Hyd - to - Hyd... and Pune being the transit location with an exit allowed to roam the city... :P

My week ended with being back home any seeing my parents off.. :P and and and.. driving my car for the first time with out a chaperon... i can now proudly say that i can drive..:P

After that well its just been all about cookies and cupcakes.. and more... !!! :P

SO.. Its 2012.. and nothing seems new or different in my life... and my routine is down in dumps already...

Anyway let me begin with updates starting from my birthday.. :P

As it turns out P took the Wishlist a little too seriously..:P not that i'm complaining really... a lot of the things on the list are being fulfilled as after b'day surprises.. and i love a good surprise... :) :)

So, here goes the gift list of this last year's b'day
- My New Laptop.. Sony Vaio C series
- My Car.. Esteem.. its old but atleast its mine now... :) finally a little reprieve from the autowala's and their jhik jhik...
- My Surprise B'Day Party in P's car... :)

- A Dinner Surprise on the night before my b'day...
- Baking pan- which i got as an after b'day gift :P
- A dish for the cakes
- STRAWBERRIES..!!!

- P & A.D made sure to make my b'day a lotta fun... :)

- N got me my dough scraper... 

There were a few more things... but the best one was world Peace... P made sure the world around me was peaceful.. :P... so i'd say that suffices for world peace... :)

So all in all my day was grreeaaatttt..:)

So that was my Christmas... :P

Oh and there was the whole bumping into old friends from school at the cafe... it was great fun catching up there... :) 

There was the whole week that went by getting through my close friends wedding...sometimes i wonder why Indian weddings have soo much shing-bang.... i was more tired then the bride.. slept like a log on Saturday after it was all over..

New Year was fun too.. i feel like P has become my shadow.. we cant seem to stay away.. :P when we don't meet for a day i feel like i missed something..  ( okay that was a bit too much... :P)

Oh and yes there is the whole business venture thing that happened between my b'day and the new year and the wedding...  

Anyway the post is kind of boring.. so i'm just going to end it here... goodbye people...
